Caption: Stephen Horn, left, chief executives officer for Renaissance Center Venture, on Thursday unveiled a model of the new Jefferson Avenue entrance to Renaissance Center, above. The 7.5 million plan, part of a $27 mission effort by RenCen owners to make the downtown landmark more accessible and easier to navigate, calls for a fire-story reflection glass facade, a two-story atrium and new escalators and floor treatments. Construction is scheduled to start this month, and is expected to be completed late this year. The new entrance was designed by Detroit-based Smith, Hinchman, Grylls & Associates Inc. The contractor is Lathrup Construction of Toledo.
