Caption: HARVARD STORM CENTER. CAMBRIDGE;MASS, - Appointment of GRANVILLE HICKS Literary editor of New Masses and a Communist Sympathizer, as a house counselor at Harvard University, brought a storm of comment in the Massachusetts Senate. Several hours after the appointment became public; Senator Thomas M. Burke; Democrat of Boston; asked the State Senate to extend the special commission investigating commission and fascism in this state in view of the fact that Harvard has given a position to an avowed communist. The extension was voted until May 1 as the term of the commission would have expired this month. Hicks is shown at his home in Grafton; New York where he beems the east bit disturbed by the Senate?s action.
