More than 6,000 bicycle buffs pedaled from early morning into darkness Saturday and planned to continue until 10 a.m. today on Belle isle in a celebration of bicycles and the breaking-away spirit. Although the two who travel farthest will receive trophies, the annual Detroit News Wolverine 200 bicycling marathon is mostly just fun. The goal is a 200-mile ride.
