CAPTION: Michigan Bell Telephone. Michael Coleman, a switching supervisor at the Mich. Bell (496-1859) explains the cable vault in the basement of the Michigan Bell office building. He said that about 360,000 phone lines come into the building in these conduits. He also explains the Main Distribution frame, where the phone lines coming into the building are wired into the computers. It is here that the customer gets the dial tone from the phone system..
