CAPTION: IN HIS CAR THAT NEVER WAS is Roy Shepard, of Grand Rapids. After reconstructing the 1895 Dey-Griswold Electric from faded pictures and spare parts Shepard found the auto was never produced because of technical difficulties. In the background is another of Shepard's remakes, a1905 Smith with candle lights that he drives on summer evenings.
