Caption: Shirley Reid, Mrs. Reid, Employee Consultant with the Detroit Public Schools, was Chapter President in 1978 and 1979. She guided the Chapter in its transition from Detroit United Foundation auspice to membership in the United Way of Michigan. Mrs. Reid was honored by WDIV-TV with its community service award for her work with MAEDC.
