Tishman has been the biggest single landlord in Los Angeles, was the builder of Manhattan's first air conditioned office building and was the re-constructor of New York's Park Avenue. He died one day after Port Of New York Authority chose his firm to supervise construction of the $575 million World Trade Center whose twin 110-story towers would be tallest in world.
