She is one of five selected by the AWRT board for "excellence of performance in work related to the radio and television industry."Bettelou has been with the Free Press since 1944 and has been handling radio and TV news since 1948. In private life, she is Mrs. Laurence Middlemas, Jr., wife of a Detroit News sports writer.
