Barrow: I don't believe that. I've not seen any evidence of it when I am out in the streets. I can tell across the board what is happening in terms of people wanting change. People are getting to know me now and seeing what I've been doing. The people are ready. The most important thing by these polls..is that (mayor Coleman Young) still just breaks 50 percent. In 1985, when we did our polls, he was at 66 percent at this stage. So I am confident. People are looking for hope. I have to continue to hit on issues. Coleman will attack me personally. He doesn't deal with the issues. Campaign focus - Do you concede that somehow the essence of who Tom Barrow is and what this campaign represents is not getting through in quite the way you would like?Barrow: I wish the media would cover more of my discussions on the issues. I can say it over and over again; it doesn't get picked up. Coleman is very crafty; he will stand up and say "My opponent is slinging mud and not talking about the issues." Because he is the mayor, you are going to cover that.".
