Caption: Critic Edmund Wilson, a leading figure on the American literary scene for the past half century, died Monday morning at his home in Boonville, N.Y. He was 77. Wilson had been at his home in the Adirondack Mountains for ten days and planned to return to his other home on Cape Cod on Tuesday. He maintained his residence in Wellfleet, Mass.
