Caption: Sgt. Alvin Smith of the Naples, Fla., left, one of eight Green Berets who had been charged in the alleged murder of a South Vietnamese double-agent, is congratulated by his military counsel, Capt. Richard Brown of Los Angeles, Calif., after hearing of the dismissal of charges by the U.S. Secretary of the Army. Charges against Smith had been held in abbeyance pending the trial of six other Green Berets.
