1969 Press Photo Israeli Premier Levi Eshkol died

Caption: (NY17-Feb. 26)ESHKOL DIES--Israili Premier Levi Eshkol dies of a heart attack today at the age of 73, the Israeli government announced. Eshkol had been ill with pneumonia several times lately and on Feb. 3, collapsed with a heart attack after a severe crisi shook his cabinet. His death raises the prospect of a struggle for the succession between supporters and foes of Defense Minister Moshe Dayan. Picture taken in 1963.
