Hall, 68, general secretary of the Communist Party USA since 1959, is suffering from a recurring problem with a spinal disc, party spokesman Carl Bloice said.Bloice said it was not known whether Hall will be able to attend later sessions of the convention, scheduled to run through Sunday at Cobo Hall on the Detroit riverfront.
