Caption: Winthrop M. Goodwin, 49, has been appointed president/Instruments Division, United Technologies Automotive, Dearborn. He will be responsible for the management and operation of the division and its operating units, which include Packard Instrument Co. in Downers Grove, Ill., Packard International in Zurich, and Bacharach Inc. in Pittsburgh. Goodwin earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue University and a master's degree in management from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
