Press Photo Ford Motor Woodhaven Stamping Plant

Caption: Fort Motor Company's giant 2.5 million square foot Woodhaven Stamping Plant literally sprang from a 412 acre bean field. Shortly after teh August, 1964, ground breaking ceremony, earth-moving equipment began clearing and leveling the site. First of the plant's major presses was installed in April 1965, just eight months after groundbreaking. By December 1965, the building was virtually completed.
