Caption: John Evans, one of the almost forgotten figures of history, will be honored Feb. 4 at a special reception at Northeastern University, Evanston, Ill. Evans was the chief founder of the 100-year-old university. He also was a physician, writer, teacher, railroad builder, founder of Evanston and Territorial Governor of Colorado.
