The Marlette teenager had been comatose 153 days at the time of the story - a rigid, contorted figure lying on a hospital bed in what had once been the Sullivan's living room. The other furniture had been moved; the room had become a shrine to the family's fervent wish for and belief in the recover of a 17- ?..breathing oxygen, through a ventilator and kept immobile by Pavulon, a paralytic drug that affects the central nervous system."They told us four times that he wasn't going to make it, that it was just a matter of time," says Dick Sullivan.
