Caption: He Didn't StandActor Donald Sutherland is "slain" for refusal to stand up during the national anthem. The deed was done by "overzealous patriots" in a show spoofing U.S. involvement in Vietnam. Sutherland, Jane Fonda, and other anti-war entertainers had hoped to stage the show at Ft. Bragg., N.C. but authorities rejected it. The show went on at the Haymarket Coffee House in nearby Fayetteville.
