Description
Caption: High Water victims of Lake St. Clair are these carp, which were trapped in the Grosse Pointe Farms sewer system. August Billiet, 64-year-old assistant operator of the pumping station of 305 Chalfonte, said the pumping station reservoir was drained Tuesday. he found 56 carp, ranging in size from seven to 22 pounds, floundering in the bottom. Billiet said the fish apparently were washed into manholes along the lake and grew to their present size in the storm sewer lines.
