Caption: April 13, 1975--Coup Target--Soldiers and police attacked the residence of President Ngarta Tombalbaya of Chad Sunday in that north central African republic. The army later said it had taken over the government. Informed sources said Tombalbaya had been killed but there was no official confirmation.
