Caption: Pollution watchdog joins EdisonDETROIT – Morton Sterling, director of Air Pollution Control for the Wayne County Health Department since 1957, has taken a job with Detroit Edison as director of environmental affairs. Edison vice president Claybourne Mitchell said Sterling would help Edison "protect and improve the environment we all share."As Wayne County's watchdog for air pollution, Sterling often clashed with Edison, which has reportedly cut particulate emissions by 90 percent in the dozen years.
