Caption: REST IN PEACE? Not the late Kate Smith. Nearly a year after her death, her body remains in a vault in the Adirondack Mountains as disagreements about a proposed $88,000 mausoleum delay interment in Lake Placid, N.Y. Church folk say the Smith mausoleum is a cemetery monstrosity. Smith's sister Helena Steene says: "My sister's will does not allow her to be buried anyplace else.".
