Caption: Fishing - IndianBay Mills, Mich., May 12 - Arguing An "Age-Old" Right - Mike LeBlanc of the Bay Mills Chippewa reservation hauls of a gil net at the end of a fishing day. About 200 Indians in the area are in conflict with the State of Michigan over treaty rights signed with the federal government in 1836 and 1855 giving them to fish the northern parts of Lakes Michigan and Huron without any regulation by the state.
