Caption: Deems Taylor, composer (center), with two of the youthful stars of the Philadelphia Opera Company, Dorothy Sarnoff and William Hess. Miss Sarnoff, soprano, is 23 and sang in church choirs in NYC. Hess, tenor, is 26, and formerly was a Hagerstown, Md. football hero and blacksmith's assistant. They're shown in costume for the principal roles in Taylor's opera, "Ramuntoho".
