Today, Smith, too ill with lumbago to leave his room, had a two hour and 17 minute meeting with Frech Premiere Pierre Mended-France. The latter, who has little more than 24 hours to go before his "peace or resign" deadline, said things were going "all right" and he hoped peace in Indochina was in sight.
