Caption: The effects of light on water can created a moody sea picture, even on a dull, sunless day. I took this photograph from the upper dock of a fishing boat in the wake of another boat sloshing off to sea- some, 15 years ago off southern California. The picture, originally a horizontal, was cropped in printing to make a vertical and enlarge from 4x5 to 16x20. It was awarded $50 Honorable Mention in Popular Boating's "Great Moments in Boating" national competition and published in the December 1963 issue.
