Description
Caption: In a rare and outspoken interview in October McCall's, almost-octogenarian Mamie Eisenhower talks about her marriage to Ike, the good times and the bad. She recalls, "After World War One everybody thought we were going to the dogs, but we didn't. I am optimistic about the future. It's a young person's country." She can't accept all of the changes she's lived through, however: "I don't know about this Ms. business. God made you to have children.. I feel sorry for people who don't. It's not natural.".
