1967 Press Photo Sir Francis Chichester yacht solo sail

Caption: Mariner's Wave--Sir Francis Chichester waves to crowd at news conference at Plymouth, England, last night upon returning from his earth-circling voyage through some 28,500 miles of ocean waves. The 65-year-old skipper left Plymouth last Aug. 27 and made a one-stop solo trip in his 53-foot yacht Gipsy Moth IV.
