Nature, the popular weekly television series exploring the mysteries and wonders of our natural world, begins its fifth season on national public television with the premiere presentation, Alyeska: The Great Land, airing Sunday, October 19 at 8 p.m. (ET). The broadcast explores the vast wilderness of Alaska -- Alyeska is the Aluet Indian name for "great land" - including the state's mountains, rivers, forests and tundra. The film focuses on how plants and animals have evolved to cope with the remarkably harsh and unrelenting Alaskan climate.
