Description
Dr. Donald Laird, director of Colgate University's psychological laboratory, speaking before the National Office Management Association, convention in Chicago, says that because large numbers of desk workers eat an orange for breakfast and pickles for lunch, they suffer a midafternoon "letdown" that seriously impairs efficiency, he said that bosses ought to serve all help with tea and crackers or wafers, in mid afternoon. He is shown above, at the right, demonstrating his theory with, left to right, the Misses Florence Foley, Muriel Nelson and Lillian Nelson.

Photo is dated 1937.
