A controversy over the advisability of allowing free pews in Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, church of the bishop of the diocese of Ohio, has led to the resignation of Dr. Francis S. White Dean of the Institution for 11 years and an exponent of free pews, Dr. White, twice President of Cleveland (O) Federated Churches, has consistently advocated free pews since coming to his city. A committee headed by Samuel Mather, nationally known capitalist, was appointed to consider the resignation which was accepted.
