Description
Republican White Hope of Pennsylvania is the description given to Carl Bartram Shelley, prosecutor of corruption charges against the "Little New Deal" administration of Governor George H. Earle. His first move was presentation of information to a grand jury. Shelley, 44, was past commander of the American Legion in Harrisburg and was the new District Attorney of Dauphin County. Pennsylvania Republicans were said to place in him their hope of jolting the State Democratic Organization and possibly the Roosevelt Administration.
