Soviet deputy Foreign Minister Valerian Zorin addresses the UN Security Council during session of that body 9/14, while US Ambassador to the UN James Wadsworth listens attentively. While the Security Council was bogged down in debate on which of two opposing Congolese delegations to invite to its discussion concerning the Congo crisis, the Congolese Army announced that it was seizing power from both Congo Premier Patrice Lumumba and President Joseph Kasavubu.
