Federal Housing Chief Albert Cole is shown as he went before a Senate Housing Subcommittee on May 12, 1958 to ask Congress for an "Emergency" increase in Federal Housing Authority to increase mortgages as a result of a sudden boom in applications. Cole said the record level of applications is "Anti-recessionary force in the national economy."
