1978 Press Photo Otis Elevator Comput-o-chek cable-save

Caption: Otis Elevator's emphasis on safety and maintenance has never changed. In 1883, the first regular elevator inspection service was introduced and in 1921, the first complete elevator maintenance service was established. Two recent firsts, are left, COMPUT-O-CHEK, which electronically monitors and records key elevator functions on site. CABLE-SAVE is Otis' new polyurethane sheave insert, which reduced cable stress and friction.
