His text books are the second best sellers in the world after the Bible. More than 122,000,000 copies of the six "Eclectic Readers" and a high school reader were sold between 1858 when the first came out and the present day.Henry Ford thought so much of the unpretentious little school books, that even today, they are used in the lower grades of the Edison Institute Schools.
