Caption: Named To A.E.C. Post -- President Nixon nominated Wednesday Dr. Dixy Lee ray, of Seattle, for a five - year term on the Atomic Energy Commission. She has been director of the Pacific Science Center here since 1963 and is an associated professor of zoology at the University of Washington where she has been on the faculty 24 years.
