1961 Press Photo Mitzi Green, $250,000 gems

Caption: The sparkle in Mitzi Green's eyes is just the reflection of $250,000 worth of sparklers she's wearing. Miss Green, star of the musical "Gypsy", opening Thursday at the Shubert, modeled the dazzling collection of gems but didn't take them home. the gems are part of the Centennial Collection of diamonds assembled by Wright Kay and Co. for the formal opening Thursday of their Gross Pointe branch store. The gems will be on public display at the new store.
