Caption: Protest Of Dump Plan-Protesters at Ford World HQ, Dearborn along Michigan Avenue at HQ-Detroit area residents-citing concerns for health and property values-picket the Ford World HQ in Dearborn. About 50 demonstrators protested the automaker's proposed use of 12 acres of its 260-acre landfill in Allen Park to bury hazardous and toxic industrial waste. Ford is seeking a license from state Department of Natural Resources and the U.S. Enivormental Protection Agency to dump the watse in the landfill, bordered by Outer Drive, Southfield, Oakwood and I-94.
