Caption: Eugene A. Cafiero, executive vice president of Chrysler Corp., has been given broader responsibilities under a reorganization plan announced Thursday in Detroit by Chrysler Chairman Lynn Townsend when Townsend announced his retirement from the company on Oct. 1. Cafiero is expected to become the president of Chrysler and John J. Riccardo, current president, will move up to chairman when Townsend retires Oct. 1.
