Caption: (NY24)NEW YORK,MAY 1-- THEY EXPOSED EDITORS AND PUBLISHERS-- A series of stories written jointly by Roy J. Harris (left) of the St.Louis Post-Dispatch and George Thiem (right) of the Chicago Daily News which exposed Illinois editors and publishers who had been on the Illinois state payroll today won their papers the 1950 Pulitzer prize for Meritorious Public Service.
