1979 Press Photo Helicopter Beams Real Estate Store

Caption: Right on the beamA helicopter recently was called into action to lift two 5,000-pound structural steel beams into place at the former Sears store on Grand River and Oakman on Detroit's west side. Developers King-LoPatin Associates are recycling the old department store, closed since 1977, into a tri-level shopping mall scheduled for completion this fall. The steel beams will support an 18-by-25-foot skylight.
