Every photo in our collection is an original vintage print from a newspaper or news service archive, not a digital image. Please see our FAQ for more information.

Description
Caption: Two cows lay dead in a dried up water hole on the edge of the Florida Everglades where they vainly sought relief from the more than 60 days of drought. One of the many fires burning in the sawgrass country blazes a short distance away.
