Description
Caption: Getting at the fire - A Detroit fire fighter hacks away at the wood siding of a window of the Concord Apartments on E. Grand Blvd. near St. Paul during a two-alarm fire Friday. The building had been condemned, but fire officials said people were living in it and some refused to leave. The fire, which began around 1:30 p.m. and was under control in 45 minutes, was confined to the top floor of the north wing, the same area where a previous fire caused extensive damage. No injuries were reported. The cause had not been determined, but the arson squad was investigating, officials said.
