Description
Caption: The abandoned headquarters of UAW Local 3, which represented workers at Chrysler Corp.'s former Dodge Main assembly plant, was destroyed by fire Sunday night. The one-story building in Hamtramck, Michigan, at Alice and Jos. Campau, had been vacant since Dodge Main, then one of the auto industry's largest plants, closed in 1980, a union official said. UAW spokesman Bob Barbee said the local had 3,000 to 4,000 members when it was disbanded.
