Caption: 1/25/61--West Los Angeles: Mel Blanc, shown in file photo, deadpan comic who created the cartoon voices of "Bugs Bunny," and "Porky Pig," was critically injured late 1/24 in an auto collision on a winding section of Sunset Blvd. in West Los Angeles. Blanc suffered compound fractures of both legs, a broken left arm, and head injuries. Taken to UCLA Medical center, officials described his condition as "serious.".
