Caption: 12/16-Kentfield, Calif: Mrs. Elizabeth Smith, Democratic National Committeewoman (R) said 12/15 she has been asked by President-elect John Kennedy to be the new Treasurer of the U.S. Mrs. Smith would not comment 12/16 on her acceptance of the post, saying that questions should be directed to Washington.
