Caption: Oct. 24, 1969-Dies at 61--Mongi Slim, the first African to become president of the United Nations General Assembly and Tunisia's first ambassador to the US, died Thursday in Tunis at the age of 61. He had returned to Tunisia Oct. 5 after treatment at Washington's Walter Reed Hospital since June 23 for viral hepatitis complicated by heart trouble.
