Caption: (LV1) Las Vegas, Nev. July 19 -- Mrs Skelton Shot -- Comedian Red Skelton hands his wife a piece of his birthday cake Monday just a few hours before she accidentally shot herself in their room at the Sands Hotel. She is reported in good condition at a local hospital. The photo was taken during the comedian's birthday party before his evening show at the Sands. The mishap occurred during the Midnight show. Red was told of the accident after he finished his act.
