Caption: (NY29-Jan.3) THIS IS A SPECIAL TRANSMISSION FOR THE DETROIT FREE PRESS (hrm61551fbs)1969, Emile Zola Berman, Herbert V. Walker, Russell E. Parsons, RUSSELL B. PARSONS, 69, wispy, bespectacled defense lawyer who has tried nearly 5,000 cases in almost 50 years' practice. In his 1954 Charles Cahan case, the California Supreme Court ruled that evidence illegally obtained cannot be used against a defendent. EMILE ZOLA BERMAN, 65, of New York City, Berman is best known for his defense of a Marine sergeant accused on a night march into a swamp where six died. The sergeant was convicted of negligent homicide.
